YWCA Summer Camps

Full Description:

The YWCA of Asheville offers Summer Camp for grades K-6 and Spirit Camp for 11-16 year olds. Hours are 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The cost is $120 per week for members, $135 per week for non-members (this includes breakfast and an afternoon snack daily). Sign up for one week or the entire summer! Summer Camp for K-6 Campers will enjoy weekly field trips, fitness programs, swimming lessons, music, gardening, science, dance, and much more. Call CiCi Weston at 828-254-7206 x 111 for more information or to register. Every week will have a theme with related activities. One week campers will have a demonstration from the Terpsicorp Dance Company and be able to attend their performance. Another week they will participate in 4-H, which includes quilting, gardening, outdoor activities and nutrition. In collaboration with Inner City Adventures, campers will have the opportunity to travel with experienced volunteers and staff on hiking, camping, climbing, and other outdoor adventures. Field trips will include Catawba Science Center in Hickory, NC; Bays Mountain in Kingsport, TN; Oconaluftee Indian Village in Cherokee, NC; Fontana Village in Fontana Dam, NC; Lazy 5 Ranch Safari in Mooresville, NC; and Fun Factory in Franklin, NC. Spirit Camp for 12-16 Year Olds YWCA Spirit Camp, for 12-16 year olds, provides participants with opportunities to become involved in their community and to explore career options. In addition, they will enjoy swimming, dance lessons, cook outs, roller skating, games, camping and more. Field trips will include Lake Lure, Ripley's Aquarium, Charlotte's Discovery Place, kayaking, tubing. Spirit Camp helps adolescents build self-esteem while having fun!
